    David McCormick, Professor of Neurobiology in the Department of Neurobiology at Yale University School of Medicine.
    Topic: David McCormick has made major contributions to our understanding of basic neurophysiology, from individual synapses up to the scale of neuronal networks, and how these relate to perception, learning and memory. His current research interests include fast visual cortical plasticity, persistent activity in the prefrontal cortex, and sleep-related activity in the cortex.

    Professor Scott Makeig, Director of the Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience, Institute for Neural Computation at the University of California.
    Topic: "Brain Rhythms / Brain Noise: Human Brain Dynamics from the Top Down"

    Professor Makeig's influential work includes novel methods for the analysis of EEG and neuroimaging data and a sophisticated conceptual framework for the interpretation of results. Together with Professors Terrence Sejnowski and Tony Bell, Makeig introduced the use of Independent Components Analysis (ICA) into neuroscience research.
